Suellen Beasley Allen, 78, of Bethany, Oklahoma, passed peacefully from this life on Sunday, March 14, 2021. Suellen lived with a steadfast faithfulness to God and unsurpassed wisdom and loveliness that drew people of all ages to her. Her passing will leave an immeasurable void in the lives of her family and friends. This vibrant redhead was born April 15, 1942. She was the second child of Jennie and Avett Beasley of Bethany. She was always a great source of pride to her father and mother who adored her strength, intelligence and perseverance to accomplish anything she set her mind to and was treasured by her 3 brothers up to the very moment they each left this earth. As a 12 Year Club 1960 Bethany Graduate, 1964 Oklahoma Baptist University graduate and lifelong member of Putnam City Baptist Church, Suellen became a driving force in all endeavors. Her desire to serve others with detailed perfection helped her to be an incredible leader in many jobs in the community and was often heard saying, "It's amazing what can be accomplished when it doesn't matter who gets the credit." Throughout her lifetime her jobs and service projects included; 1st-grade teacher before starting her family, continuous volunteer in her children's classrooms in the PC School District, PTA President, volunteer for the Bethany Development Authority and Bethany Chamber of Commerce (Northwest Oklahoma City Chamber), testing administrator for National Assessment of Educational Progress across the state of Oklahoma, a docent for the Governor's Mansion, Chairman of the Wings Women's Ministry at her church and co-owner and operator of the community newspaper, The Westside News Leader. Above all, her greatest passion and personal satisfaction were attained from working by her husband's side in raising their four girls and serving together as Sunday school teachers. There was not a time her family didn't see her serving in the classrooms at church but her greatest devotion of time was spent serving the 5/6th grade class for 20 years before leading the Special Needs ministry. We firmly believe there was not a child's heart left untouched by her gentle teachings of God. She dedicated her life to her husband, children and grandchildren. They have found great peace in knowing there is not one conversation left unsaid. Her consistent and abiding love and admiration for her family brought her and them immense joy. Suellen is survived by her devoted husband of 55 years, Louie R. Allen, 4 daughters Jennifer Wheat, Stephanie (Darin) Boyer, Heather (Dennis) Berry, and Cathy (Brian) Wandel, 12 grandchildren: Baylen, Rachael, Anna, Ashley, Jennie, Zane, Alaina, Ty, Lily, Elle, Quinn and Will. She was preceded in death by her parents Avett and Jennie Beasley, her 3 brothers: Chuck, Allen and Geoff Beasley and Son-in-Law Jerry Wheat. Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 17th from 6 pm-8 pm at Putnam City Baptist Church with Celebration of Life services to be held Thursday, March 18th, 2021, at 11:00 am at Putnam City Baptist Church, 11401 N Rockwell Ave in Oklahoma City. Notes: Cemetery of interment changed from Resurrection Memorial to Chapel Hill Memory Garden, Oklahoma City per auto SAC on 14 Jun 2023. Special thanks to contributor: 49939264.
