- first name, nickname, date/place of death, and spouse link provided by Find A Grave contributor, mud (9/16/2021). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The date of death on this makeshift marker looks to be 1922. Two rows above that date, I think I see the year 1880, but can't be 100% for certain. The name, best I can tell, looks to be something like: S P MiLLy StarEk. The lettering used on this makeshift marker are both upper and lower case. Also, it's difficult to determine the first two letters, but they do look like an "S" and a "P". Using the above information, I searched Ancestry.com looking for "Spmilly Starek". And then "Milly Starek", using at first just the 1920 as the death date, living in "Texas" and "Ennis, Ellis County, Texas". I came up with an Ermlie Starrik {Emilie Starek}, who was born in Austria in 1880, arriving in Galveston, Texas in 1907. However, nothing else regarding this individual came up on Ancestry so I could not determine for sure. Using the same info as before (residing in Ennis, Ellis County, Texas, and the date of death) I attempted another search adding a year of birth of 1880. Nothing different came up. What I was hoping to find was a Texas death certificate, with a burial in St.Joseph Cemetery. But as I mentioned, I found nothing. Resting alongside Starek, with a makeshift cross marker is Francis Joseph Rogala (1921-1922). His cross marker can be seen in one of my photos. Other's buried in this immediate area, as can be seen in the photos, include the last names of: Holy, Jansa, Spaniel, Janousek, Gassett, Walker, Hejny and Kriska. ~ snipps, 8/21/2021 ~
