Son of Mahala (Mackay) and James Ellington. James died in 1854 in El Monte, California. Wednesday, January 6, 1932 The Bakersfield Californian HOLD FINAL RITES FOR TOM ELLINGTON TEHACHAPI, Jan. 6 - Services for Tom Ellington, Tehachapi pioneer, were held Tuesday afternoon in the Tehachapi community church. Rev. T. C. Williams conducted the services. The church was overflowing with friends of Mr. Ellington who had made his home here for 61 years, and the casket was banked with floral tributes. A quartet sang "Nearer My God to Thee" and "Abide With Me." Pallbearers were Louis Boden, Al Notine, Bob Freeman, H. A. Weverling, William Cuddeback, James Clark.
