Bio

Patti Jo Farritor, age 67, of Lincoln, Nebraska, departed this earth for Heaven on Tuesday August 10th, 2021. There are people who live to enrich the lives of others, and tirelessly devote their time to serving. Patti was one such person. She relished in the time she spent making priceless memories with her family and enjoyed sharing stories about her daughters and grandchildren, as they were the light of her life. As a civil and animal rights activist, Patti used her voice to speak loudly and firmly against injustice for those in need. Her love for the wonder of creation was ceaseless; be it the sunrise, sunset, flowers, or other scenery, Patti stopped to soak it in and appreciate the beauty surrounding her. She respected the environment and all beings inhabiting the earth. From the smallest insects to animals of all varieties, Patti cherished each life and advocated for their safety. One of her beloved memories was the opportunity to meet and love on Kekoa, an over 100-pound timber wolf at the Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Center. Another favorite experience was the time she documented the complete metamorphosis of her caterpillar into a gorgeous Monarch butterfly, lovingly called 'Joy.' Examples such as this are reasons why, although she was indisputably beautiful, always fashionable and accessorized with lovely and unique jewelry, her true beauty came from within, from the purest of hearts filled with an abundance of love. Patti enjoyed music and sports and was a loyal University of Nebraska-Lincoln employee and Husker fan. While working as an administrative assistant for the Department of Educational Psychology, Patti touched the lives of thousands of students and faculty. Patti was beacon of hope for stressed students; her warm eyes and welcoming smile drawing them into her office. When Patti asked how you were, she truly cared to know, and stopped whatever she was doing to share stories and laughter and offer her unwavering strength and quiet encouragement. A person simply could not walk away from Patti without feeling cherished and uplifted. Patti was born April 1954 in Broken Bow, Nebraska, to Robert G. Farritor and Kathleen E. (Shea) Farritor. She graduated from Broken Bow High School in 1972 and went on to study at Kearney State College. Survivors include two daughters; Erin Brown of Lincoln, Nebraska; Jessica Good and husband Matt Good of Lincoln, Nebraska; grandson Brooks Good and granddaughter Reese Good of Lincoln, Nebraska; brother Mitch Farritor of Kearney, Nebraska; brother Mike Farritor and wife Judy Farritor of Broken Bow, Nebraska; and her beloved rescue dog, Cloud. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Sharron Monica Farritor.
