Bio
Betty was born on Feb 23, 1929 in Murray, UT to Ivory & Gertrude Smith. She passed on Nov. 20, 2007 in Las Vegas, NV. Betty eloped with Hugh Clair Sutton "Sut" on Feb. 27, 1949. They were married for 39 yrs. Betty was a totally loving Grams. She never met a person she didn't like. She was always open for new adventures. Betty and her sister, Beth, adventured many places these last 15 years. Betty is survived by her three daughters, Linda (Ted) Naanes, Pat (Bill) Lewis, and Bobbie (Craig) Shield. Her grandchildren, Julie and Mike Naanes, BradlieAnne (Nick) Ezell, Ki Shield, were her life. She has great-grandchildren, Lilly, Ashton and Kensington. She has a special daughter, Sherry Matthews, and grandson, Hunter. She is survived by her brothers and sisters, Bud (Elaine) Smith, Sherman (Gwen) Smith, and Charles (Arba) Smith, Beth Montague, Charlene (Brent) Forsgren, and Claudia Monahan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh, her parents, and sister, Jerry Montag. It was a beautiful, sunny day for her entrance. Graveside Services will be at Redwood Memorial Estates, Taylorsville, UT, Monday, Nov. 26, 2007 at 2 p.m. Published in the Deseret News from 11/25/2007 - 11/26/2007.
