Bio

Mae played guitar and was able to read music. Married James Monroe Briggs on Dec. 29, 1911 in Manchester, Delaware County, IA. Divorced March 13, 1934. To this union was born her son Erwin Gerald Briggs. Mae was helping with the haying and fell off the wagon, giving birth to a stillborn daughter. Married William Montague on Dec. 20, 1938. Her obituary states that she was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
