Lou Crow O'Neal June 5, 1927 - August 6, 2021 Lou Crow O'Neal, age 94, of Waco, passed away late Friday night, August 6, 2021, at Providence Hospital in Waco. A memorial service and celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 15, 2021, at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church in Gholson, with Rev. Todd Pick officiating. Lou was born June 5, 1927, in Leander, the daughter of Frank and Ollie (King) Robinson. She attended schools in the Leander area. On October 24, 1992, she was united in marriage to Bill O'Neal in Gholson. Bill preceded her in death on July 8, 2021. Lou was a very active and faithful member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church in Gholson. She served her church as the financial secretary and her talents and through music and entertaining, doing skits with her sister. She was very loved by her church family. During WWII, Lou and her family hosted soldiers in their home. She and her sister spent time going to USO dances and made many life-long friends. Lou worked for the Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center Accounting Department before retiring after 26 years of service. In her leisure time, Lou became a very gifted writer of both poetry and plays, writing for many different occasions. She really enjoyed traveling, playing games, dancing, and especially spending time with her sister. Lou is also preceded in death by her parents; her son, Robin Lewis Crow; and her brothers, Johnny Robinson and Eddie Robinson. Survivors include her grandchildren, Stephanie Ballew and husband Jeff, and Melissa Moore; her great-grandchildren, Jacob, Cadence, and Gage; nephew, Bobby Safley; niece, Dona Myers; sister, Juanda Safley and husband Wayne; great-nieces, Kristina Safley, Shaylah Enge and husband Erik, and Brean Childress; great-great-nephew, Lukas; brother-in-law, Bobby O'Neal and family; and many other relatives and close friends.
