The Emporia Gazette, 12 August 1935, Monday MADISON WOMAN KILLED Mrs. E. D. Marlar Dies When Car Is Struck By Train Special to the Gazette: Madison, Aug. 12 -- Mrs. E. D. Marlar, of Madison, was killed instantly Sunday afternoon when the car in which she and Mr. Marlar were riding was struck by a train a mile south of Madison. Mr. Marlar was taken to the Newman Memorial County hospital in Emporia. He received a fractured leg. By,Becky Doan
