Telegraph Herald (Dubuque, IA) - Tuesday, April 1, 2008 Sister Cleonica Meier, BVM, of Marian Hall, 1050 Carmel Drive, Dubuque, died at 3:40 a.m. Monday, March 31, 2008, at Mercy Medical Center-Dubuque. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 3, at Marian Hall Chapel. Friends may call from 2:45 to 4:45 p.m. Wednesday, April 2, at the chapel, where there will be a prayer service at 4:45 p.m. Miller Funeral Home, East Dubuque, is in charge of arrangements. Sister Cleonica was an educator in Chicago, Ill.; Des Moines, Council Bluff, Fort Dodge and Sioux City, Iowa; Butte and Missoula, Mont.; Lincoln, Neb.; San Francisco, Petaluma and Sacrament, Calif.; and Denver and Aurora, Colo. She also did parish ministry in Sioux City, Kansas City, Mo. and Lincoln; and was a staff member at Marian Hall. She was born on Jan. 21, 1914, in Crofton, Neb., daughter of Joseph and Francis (Hoesing) Meier. She made her first profession of vows on March 19, 1935, and her final profession on Aug. 15, 1940. Surviving are nieces and nephews; and the Sisters of Charity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, with whom she shared life for 75 years.
