Robert M. Wyatt, 82, of Amarillo died Monday, May 8, 2006. Private family burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Llano Cemetery by Cox Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive. Robert was born June 17, 1923, in Amarillo and was raised here. He graduated from Amarillo High School in 1941. He joined the Army Air Corps after high school and flew the "Hump" from Burma to China during World War II and completed more than 25 missions. He married Bernadine Landis in Kearney, Neb., while stationed there. They moved back to Amarillo after his discharge from the military in 1945, and he worked as a mail window clerk for the U.S. Postal Service until his retirement in 1972. Survivors include his wife; a daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and Gary Flowers of Amarillo; two grandsons, Damon Flowers of Austin and Brent Choate of Amarillo; a granddaughter, Amy Choate of Amarillo; and three great-grandchildren.
