(WA) | Date of Publication: 14 Mar 2019Obituary for Marjorie Jean Corier Obituary of Marjorie Jean Corier Marjorie Jean Corier passed away of cancer on March 11, 2019. She was born February 14, 1952 to Nolan R. and Jean Gillespie Brown in Salt Lake City, Utah. Over the years, she also lived in Woodinville and Seattle, Washington, and Portland, Oregon. Margie graduated from Woodway High School in Edmonds, Washington, and earned a BA in speech from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, and an MA in rehab counseling from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan. She married Michael T. Corier on December 19, 1973 in Manti, Utah. Professionally, she was an independent living counselor working with the elderly and the blind. She also worked for the Department of Services for the Blind. Margie was a warm and loving wife and mother, and a fantastic grandmother. She loved music and chocolate candy dipping. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and held many positions, including teaching and serving president of the women?s organization, Relief Society. She also was a member of the Lions Club, where she was a resource center coordinator. Margie?s greatest joys in life were serving in the community, living her religion, and spending time with her family. She is survived by her husband, M. Timm Corier; son, Peter and Ellen (Wright) Corier of Tumwater; daughters, Kathryn (Corier) and Darin Flynn of Carson City, Nevada, and Emily (Corier) and Jonathan Wood of Houston, Texas; 17 grandchildren; sisters, Claire Brown of Olympia, Julie (Brown) and Denny Coleman of St. Louis, Missouri, Leslie (Brown) and Shea Wilson of Bothell, Washington; and brother, Dave and Mary (McKnew) Brown of Lacey. She was predeceased by her parents, Nolan Royal Brown and Jean (Gillespie) Brown; and grandparents, Reed and Jeanette (Wilkin) Brown, and Sharp and Eva (Giles) Gillespie. Services will be held Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 3800 Henderson Blvd. SE, Olympia, WA 98501. A viewing will take place at 10:00 a.m, followed by the funeral at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place at 12:30 p.m. at Odd Fellows Memorial Park, 3802 Cleveland Ave. SE, Tumwater, WA 98501.
