Evans Hancock 1892-1995 John Russell Evans 1894-1895 Era Mimus Evans Parsley 1897-1964 Walter Nolan Evans 1901-1965 OBITUARY The Carrollton Chronicle January 14, 1944 Aged Carrollton Resident Dies Friday, Leaving 112 Descendants Joe Evans, 87, whose descendants total 112, died Friday at the home of a daughter near Carrollton. A retired farmer and born in Searcy County Arkansas, Mr. Evans had resided in Carrollton for the last twenty years. He came to Texas with his family in a cover wagon settling near Collin county and coming to Carrollton some twenty years ago to make his home. He was born March 23, 1858 in Searcy County, Arkansas. He joined the Methodist church there as a young man. His survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Elsie Stice and Mrs. Era Parsley, both of Dallas; Mrs. Alice Trapp, Minneola and Mrs. Alice Hancock; six sons, C. E. Evans, Madill, Okla.; W. R. Evans, Carrollton; Jim Evans, McKinney; ?? Evans, and Walter Evans, both of Dallas and Otto Mosley, also of Carrollton; forty three grandchildren and fifty-nine great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Rhoton Funeral Home Chapel, Carrollton, with the Rev. Gene Colton officiating. Burial was in Perry Cemetery. Pallbearers were Frank Burgess, Ed McCoy, Darrell Myers, Bob Gentry, Art Daniel and Lem Cromer.
