Graveside services for Billie Harris, 90, of Athens, are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at Payne Cemetery with Pastor Aaron Austin officiating. Billie O'Neal Harris went home to Jesus on January 29, 2021 in Athens. Billie Dean Harris was born September 24, 1930 in Athens, Texas the daughter of Elmer H. "Dick" O'Neal and Tildie (Williams) O'Neal. Billie met her husband Carl Harris in high school and they later married and had one son, Joe Wayne Harris. She worked many years as a bookkeeper for the family business, Harris & Son Body Shop. Billie loved her church family at Bois D'arc Baptist Church and she loved being a grandmother who spent as much time as possible with her family. She will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Horace L. O'Neal, Max Wayne O'Neal and her grandson Daniel Hunter Harris. Survivors include her husband, Carl F. Harris of Athens; one son, Joe Harris and wife Tina of Athens; one brother, Danny O'Neal of Athens; nine grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers the family would like donations made in her memory to the Bois D'arc Baptist Church Operation Christmas Child Fund. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home family.
