Bio
On Thursday, June 3, 2021, Marilu Gerik, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away peacefully at age 90. Marilu was born on October 9, 1930 in Hermleigh, Texas to Marvin and Chris West. On May 1, 1950, she married Walter Gerik and lived in Pep, Texas for 63 years before moving to Lubbock, Texas in 2013. Marilu loved watching the Dallas Cowboys. Especially Daryl "Moose"Johnston and eating chips and queso. She worked part time at the Pep Post Office before retiring in 2013. Marilu was preceded in death by her father, mother, husband, sister and three brothers. She is survived by her two children - Lea Kinney (Fred) and Tracy Gerik (Marjorie), five grandchildren - Josh Gerik (Jorie), Erin Hornbeak (Hunter), Kyle Gerik, Kasey Nichols (Mitchell) and Travis Demarest (Sara), nine great grandchildren - Sullie, Hudson, Ellis, Corbin, Griffen, Landen, Ezra, Zoey and Asher.
