Bio
Vernon Wilbert Plant, age 90, a longtime resident of Colorado Springs, CO went home to be with the Lord on Friday, October 28, 2011. He was born to Will and Hilda Plant on August 1, 1921 in Elbert, CO. While stationed in the Army in San Antonio, TX he met Carrie Marie Everett and they were married there July 24, 1948. Vernon is survived by his wife Carrie Marie, 7 children, 17 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and 2 sisters. He worked for 30 years for Cowen's Moving and Storage and retired in 1990. Vernon loved to teach others about his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was passionate about music and loved to sing and play hymns on the piano! He will be remembered for his sense of humor, fierce love for his family and quiet, gentle spirit. A Visitation is planned at 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, October 31, 2011 and Funeral at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, November 1, 2011 both at Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers the family requests a memorial donation be sent to CMML PO Box 13, Spring Lake, NJ 07762-0013, with a note or memo entry "For David Easter, missionary, Columbia."
