Bio
Donna Jane Kampbell, 73, of Commerce City, CO, passed away peacefully at her home and was welcomed into the Lord's presence on Saturday, June 26, 2021. A celebration of her life will be held at Tabor Funeral Home, Brighton, CO on Thursday, July 1, 2021 at 12:00 Noon. Donna will be laid to rest in Hemingford, NE, her hometown and a place she loved. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 3, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the Hemingford Cemetery, Hemingford, NE. Donna was born on February 13, 1948 to Vaughn Fickel and Emma Keane Fickel in Alliance, NE. She grew up in Marsland and Hemingford, NE. She attended Hemingford schools, where she was a cheerleader and exceled in academics and sports activities. She married Paul Kampbell on December 23, 1969. They made their home in Colorado. Donna worked for the federal government for 4 years. She then worked as a legal secretary for 20 years. Then Donna worked with Paul at Eastside Heating doing accounting work until she retired. Donna and Paul traveled extensively to many foreign countries and hosted three exchange students over the years. Donna was a very giving person and donated too many charities over the years. She always wanted to help anyone that she could. Donna enjoyed traveling, working in the yard, gardening, spending time with family, and spoiling her grandchildren. Donna kept her house in tip-top shape even with her full time work and taking care of her family. She was a proud mother and attended as many of her children's activities as possible. She was also a proud grandmother. Her grandchildren were the loves of her life and she treasured her time with them. Donna is survived by Paul Kampbell, her daughter Nicole (Jay) Singh, son Boe (Katrina) Kampbell, grandchildren, Sophia, Jason, Kendall and Colby, brothers, Conn Fickel, Gaylin (Cindy) Fickel, Ken (Vicki) Fickel, and Terry (Betty) Fickel and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. She is preceded in death by both of her parents and grandson, Joshua Singh.
