Kerrville Daily Times (TX) - Friday, August 30, 2002 KERRVILLE - Mr. John E. Zimmerhanzel, 65, a resident of Kerrville and prior resident of Houston, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2002 at a local hospital. He was born to Edward and Elsie (Kruppa) Zimmerhanzel on Aug. 29, 1936 in Muldoon, TX. John married Mary Ann Svetkovich on June 5, 1965, in Greensberg, Penn. Mr. Zimmerhanzel was an engineer and worked for a pipe and oil company. He belonged to various clubs, which included the Knights of Columbus, the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and the Pipeliners Club. He was also a member of Notre Dame Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann Zimmerhanzel, of Kerrville; mother, Elsie Zimmerhanzel, of Smithville; daughter, Melissa Stroud, of Pflugerville; son, Mark Zimmerhanzel, of Abilene; sister, Mary Ann Kallus, of La Grange; brother, Edwin Zimmerhanzel, of Smithville; four grandchildren, Eric and David Zimmerhanzel and Mathew and John Caden Stroud. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m., Friday, Aug. 30, at Grimes Funeral Chapels. Services will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 31, at Notre Dame Catholic Church with Father Michael Boulette officiating. Private interment will follow at Garden of Memories Mausoleum. Pallbearers will be members of the Knights of Columbus. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Grimes Funeral Chapels of Kerrville.
