Mae, of Colmesneil, passed away peacefully Sunday morning with loved ones by her side. She was born in the community of Emilee just east of Woodville to Charlie Chester Weaver and Fannie (Cruse) Weaver. She was a lifelong resident of Tyler County. She received her teaching degree from what is now Stephen F. Austin State University. She taught school for forty four years, with most of that time as a first grade teacher with the Colmesneil Independent School District until her retirement in 1975. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Colmesneil. There, she taught Sunday School, sang in the choir and was very active in all areas of the Church. She was active in the Order of the Eastern Star as a past Worthy Matron. Mae was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Peace; her parents; four brothers, Tom, Edgar, C.C., and Jack Weaver; three sisters, Sue Baker, Ella Evans, and Ethel Melvin Nash. Survivors include fourteen nieces and nephews; special friends, Ernestine Waters and Claudia Jones.
