Bio

Eugene M. Roznos Sr., age 84, of West, passed away late Friday night, June 11, 2021, at West Rest Haven in West. A rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel, followed by visitation until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 16, 2021, at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, with Rev. Timothy Vaverek and Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrants. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Eugene was born July 4, 1936, in West, the son of Frank and Annie (Tomak) Roznos. He attended St. Mary's School and West High School. On May 11, 1955, he was united in marriage to Jeanne Wolf in West. They then moved to Arlington where they raised their family and spent the next 33 years before returning to West. Eugene was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption. He was also a member of SPJST Lodge #6, KJT Society #31; Knights of Columbus Council #2305, St. Anne's Altar Society, and the United Auto Workers Union. He worked for General Motors in Arlington for 41 years before retiring in 1996. Eugene enjoyed fishing, doing yard work, going to the casinos in Oklahoma, being outdoors, watching old Westerns, and having a cold beer with his family and friends. He really loved family gatherings. Eugene is preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Carla Lathern; his son, Eugene Roznos Jr.; a granddaughter, Kendra Matus; a son-in-law, Gary Lathern; and sister, Wilma Kahanek. Survivors include his beloved wife of 66 years, Jeanne Roznos of West; his children, Donna Hykel and husband Larry of West, Susan Matus and significant other Pat Mynar of West, Linda Henry and husband Bill of West, Steven Roznos and wife Cathy of Waco, and Kevin Roznos and wife Tamara of China Spring; a daughter-in-law, Cindy Roznos of West; grandchildren, Justin Hykel and wife Cristy, Lacey Hykel, Tyler Hykel and wife Elizabeth, Kristi Rizo and husband Chad, Kelli Grochoske and husband Jason, Matthew Matus and wife Christi, Suzanne Matus, Bradley Mills, Seth Henry, Carley Matus, Keaton Matus, Amanda Roznos, Alyssa Roznos, Rebecca Roznos, Brandon Roznos and wife Taylor, Nick Roznos and wife Katie, Spencer Roznos and wife Addason, Rhett Roznos, and Reid Roznos; great grandchildren, Reigan, Gage, Abigale, Hunter, Emma, Elle, Logan, Gigi, Hudson, Eli, Clementine, Kendra, Brooklyn, Reagan and one on the way; a step great granddaughter, Zoe; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
