I apologize for the picture but it is an old gravestone and hard to read.
Karl, Friederika, Whilhelmiena (10 years), Fritz(8 years), Louise (5 years), and Anna (6 months) along with Friederika's brother, Friedrick Carl George Lange and family-wife Friedricka Kruger Lange, sons-Wilhelm (6 years), Otto (3 years) and daughter (6 months), sailed on the vessel EMS from Bremen, Germany and arrived November 10, 1884 at the Port of New York, United States. From there they sailed to the port of Galveston, Texas and landed on the 26th of November 1884. They settled in Warrenton, Fayette County, Texas. Karl and Friederika Lange Tiedt had three more children born to them after coming to the new country. Martha was born October 2, 1885, Wilhelm born June 30, 1889, and Katherine was born December 13, 1892. Karl applied for his citizenship to the United States, July 19, 1887, in the County Court of La Grange, Fayette County, Texas. At age 72, February 27, 1918, he made a declaration of intention for citizenship again. It has not been found if he was ever granted citizenship.
