Bio
A funeral mass for Avie Kana is scheduled at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. A wake will be held at Craddock Funeral Home. Avie Lea Kana was born May 17, 1928 to Addie Gay (Keith) and Isaac Thomas Hughes in Shelbyville, TX. She passed from this life on May 28, 2021 at the age of 93. On July 2, 1949, Avie married Joe Kana. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Ardmore. Avie was preceded in death by her parents Addie and Isaac Hughes; husband Joe Kana; and three sisters She is survived by her two sons Fred Kana and his wife Beverly of Lincoln, ME and Nickey Kana of Kerrville, TX; one daughter Betty Mocek and her husband Michael of Fort Worth, TX; 5 grandchildren Cheri Hanley and her husband Chris, Justin Kana and his wife Kelli, Alyssa Morton and her husband Chris; David Mocek and his wife Lisa, Doug Mocek; 10 great grandchildren Samantha and Cole Skelly, Jocelyn Morton, Abby Hanley Brynli Tucker, Case Kana, Leah, Alice, Mary, and Ryan Mocek; and one sister-in-law Lorraine Kana of El Campo, TX. Justin Kana, David Mocek, Doug Mocek, Cole Skelly, Case Kana, and Chris Morton will serve as pallbearers. Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Church or the charitable organization of your choice.
