Obituary. Rex LaMar Burnham, 82, passed away peacefully at his home in Lehi, Utah, on May 27th, 2021, after a long battle with cancer. He was born in Provo, Utah, to Eugene Kipling and Irene Fox Burnham on April 21, 1939. He grew up in Lehi and graduated from Lehi High School where he lettered in football, participated in FFA and was Senior Class President. He married his sweetheart, Geraldine Carlton, on December 30, 1958 and they resided in Lehi. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Mt. Timpanogos Temple. They are the parents of three children, Carie, Brett and Stacey. Rex joined the Army in January 1958, and trained in Missile Defense in El Paso, Texas. Upon discharge, he worked for the Department of Defense at Tooele Army Depot, Hercules Aerospace, and Morton-Thiokol. During those years, he had the opportunity to transfer to Germany. He and Geri packed up their family and lived in Germany for three years. They were grateful for that experience. Rex retired after 30 of service in 1995. Rex loved golfing, camping, fishing, and spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoyed gardening and carpentry. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Larry, and his great-grandson James D. Harris. He is survived by his sweet wife of 62 years, children Carie Burnham, Brett Rex Burnham, and Stacey (David) Peterson, 10 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren, with one on the way. A graveside service will be held Thursday, June 3, 2021 at 12:00pm at the Lehi City Cemetery. A viewing will be held prior to that from 10:00am-11:30am at Wing Mortuary, 118 East Main Street in Lehi.
