ANDREW JACKSON Andrew Jackson died Sunday afternoon near Wister, Okla., after a three days illness from pneumonia. Mr. Jackson will be remembered by Pomona friends as the husband of Ruth Scott, daughter of Mr. and Mrs W. T. Scott of this city. Mrs Jackson passed away here May 29, 1921, and he will be buried by her side in the Pomona cemetery. Mr. Jackson was born in Tennessee but had lived practically all his life in Brawley until going to Oklahoma last spring following the death there of an uncle. He was 42 years of age, a World war veteran and member of the American Legion. He served in the 143rd field artillery and spent 18 months of his service overseas. Mr. Jackson is survived by one son, Richard, Pomona; three sisters, Mrs. Earl Shaw, Holtville, Mrs. Irving Green, Brawley, Mrs. J. Wilmot, Randsburg, and two brothers, Oscar and Henry, both of Brawley. The body will arrive in Pomona early Friday morning and the funeeral will be held from the Todd and Reeves chapel Friday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock. The Rev. Edwin Stricker, pastor of the Trinity Methodist church, will officiate. Pall bearers are being chosen from among members of the American Legion.
