Bio
Ileta Ann Wise was born in New Orleans, LA to Shelton and Cora White on March 9, 1936. She graduated from LaGrange High School in Lake Charles, Class of 1954. While employed at the Credit Bureau in Lake Charles, she met James Arthur Wise, the gentlemen who would ask for her hand in marriage. In 1960 they traveled to Eunice, LA exchanged wedding vows, and together they welcomed three children, Ed, Jennifer, and Jill. She was a dutiful wife and mother, leading by example when it came to her faith, compassion, and the care she showed not only her family but anyone who met her. She began working at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital in 1975, where she worked her way to becoming a Controller until her retirement in 2005. In her off time, she enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her family, visiting with her sisters and spoiling her grandchildren. Whether she was taking a vacation or a trip of a lifetime, the one constant of it all was that she was with her family, the most memorable being the trips to Australia and Alaska. She stayed busy whether it was traveling, shopping, or crocheting but she always devoted time to her Lord in her daily Bible Studies. She passed away in the comfort of her home, surrounded by those she loved most on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at the age of 85. She was welcomed into Heaven by her husband of fifty-eight years, James Arthur Wise; a grandson Jacob Michael Cormier; and her parents. Those left to cherish her memory; a son, Ed (Sherline) Wise of Lake Charles, LA; two daughters, Jennifer (Russell) Simmons of Sulphur, LA, and Jill (Rick) Barfield of Austin, TX; thirteen grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; her sisters, Melva Dale Poole, Sandra Agnes Wallace, and Deborah Kaye (Paul) Baronet.
