Bio
Jo Ann Burleson, 78, died May 13, 2021, at her daughter's home in Ardmore, Oklahoma. She was born on December 22, 1942, in England, Arkansas, the daughter of Eldro and Lillian Cates Weaver. She married Joe Allen Burleson, Sr. on February 21, 1958, in Indianola, Mississippi; he preceded her in death on November 6, 2013. Mrs. Burleson worked at Dodge City Medical Center in the medical records department for 20 years. In her spare time, she drank her Coors Light and enjoyed patio time with her family and her husband, Joe, along with many friends. She is survived by three daughters, Kathy Hall and husband Artie of Ardmore, Oklahoma; Lori Sprenkle and husband David of Olathe, Kansas; Tina Culver of Beaumont, Texas; two sons Joe Burleson Jr., of Wichita, Kansas; Richard Burleson and wife Cathy of Picayune, Mississippi; two sisters Donna Roberts and Terri Weaver of Jacksonville, Arkansas. She is survived by 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four sisters, and two brothers. The family will receive family and friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Monday, May 17, 2021, at Smith-North Little Rock Funeral Home. The Funeral will be Tuesday, May 18, at 2:00 PM at the Funeral Home. Burial at Brownsville Cemetery in Lonoke, Arkansas, where she will be laid to rest next to her soul mate. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cross Timbers Hospice, 207 "C" Street NW, Ardmore, OK 73401, 580-223-0655.
