Obituary: J. Ben Jenny, 94, of Columbus died Thursday, June 17, 1993 at Columbus Manor. Memorial services are 11 a.m., Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Columbus with the Rev. Harlan Robbins officiating. Burial is in Roselawn Cemetery. Mr. Jenny was born April 25, 1899, to Melchior and Mary (Marty) Jenny in Leigh. He attended the District 48 school in Platte County, the Agricultural College at the University of Nebraska and the Palmer Chiropractic School in Davenport, Iowa. He married Vera Bushnell of Ashland on April 25, 1922, in the home of Melchior Jenny. He was a lifetime resident of Platte and Colfax counties. Mr. Jenny farmed in Platte and Colfax counties for 32 years, moving to Columbus in 1956. After moving to Columbus, he was employed by Behlen Mfg., Wilke Landscape and Reece Wooden Sole Shoe Company. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Columbus, and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Columbus. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Phyllis Yates of San Marcos, Texas, Doris Bahns of Clarkson, and MaryAnn Wiegand of Denver; three sons, Elgin Jenny of Gretna, Donald E. Jenny of Columbus, and Jack Jenny of Lander, Wyo.; 15 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Mike Jenny; a great-granddaughter, Kim Voight; four sisters; and one brother. Children: Elgin (Ruth) Jenny-Mesa, Az Donald (Janel) Jenny Col.
