"Big Spring Herald" - Texas Lucille Hopper, 87, of Big Spring went to be with her Lord and family on Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2003. Family visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 2, 2004, at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, 2004, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with the Rev. Sammy Simms officiating. Interment will follow at Coahoma Cemetery. Mrs. Hopper was born Doris Lucille Cook on Sept. 10, 1916, in Lindale. She married William Taylor Hopper on Sept. 16, 1933, in Big Spring. She was a long time resident of Big Spring. She was a member of Crestview Baptist Church and an active member of the community. Her loyalty, compassion and competative spirit will be missed. Survivors include her son, Roy Nolan Hopper of Andersonville, Tenn.; daughter, Anna Lea Ryan of Carson, Calif.; two brothers, Alvis Cook of Hemet, Calif., and Jetty Cook of Hunt; three sisters, Francine Campbell of Hobbs, N.M., Bea Crum of Marietta, Ga., and Myrtle Dee Winkler of Long Beach, Calif.; three grandsons, Donald Hopper and Ronald Hopper, both of Andersonville, Tenn., and Daniel Ryan III of Big Spring; and two great-granddaughters. She was preceded in death by her husband, Taylor; daughter, Novelle; brother, Curtis; and granddaughter, Kathaleen. The family suggests memorials to: Home Hospice, 600 S. Gregg St., Big Spring 79720.
