Bio

Chester "Heavy" Dale Hutchison born October 19, 1948 succumbed to his battle with cancer on Sunday, April 11, 2021. Papa's life was not defined by how he died but how he lived. You knew within an instant of meeting Dale, he was a special person. Always with a joke, a quick-witted comment or just a little poke of fun, he had a special way with people. If you had the chance to be around him you knew he loved his wife and children, but he had that special level of love for his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He retired from Union Pacific railroad; however, his true calling was with the Fire Department. Dale served the Rio Vista Volunteer Fire Department for 48 years. Described as "Ever Ready, Ever Steady" by his fellow firemen, he lived a life of serving. It was said he never met a stranger and that was how he lived his life, always willing to help, he will truly be missed.
