Bio
Irene V. Katz, of Harrisburg, passed away on Monday January 30, 2017 at her home in Harrisburg surrounded by her loving family. Irene was born in Montgomery, Alabama to the late Issac and Mathilda (Piha) Varon. She is survived by her children, Montgomery V. Katz, Melinda C. Hirsch (Howard), and Harmon A. Katz (Rebecca). She is also survived by her grandchildren, Keely Hirsch, Marlee Hirsch, Austin Katz and Jeremy Katz. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Marlin M. Katz. Her funeral service will be held at 2 P.M. on Tuesday January 31, 2017 at the Kesher Israel Cemetery Chapel with Rabbi Elisha Friedman to serve as officiant. Burial will follow in the Kesher Israel Cemetery. If everyone was like Irene, there would be no wars, no crime and planet Earth would be a peaceful and happy place to live.
