Bio
Earnest Ray Waits was born in Athens, Texas on July 10, 1941 to Henry and Rena Green Waits. Earnest passed away in a Dallas, Texas hospital on Oct. 24, 2007. Earnest was raised in Scurry, Texas and lived 43 years in the Warsaw Community where he was known as Pop to all the children in his neighborhood. He serviced in the U.S. Army from 1960 to 1963. Earnest were a member of the Warsaw Baptist Church and a member of the Seagoville Masonic Lodge. On Jan. 3, 1964 Earnest married Billie Carpenter in Warsaw. Earnest is survived by his wife Billie of the Warsaw Community, brother: Loyce Waits of Greenville, Texas and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Sunday, Oct.28, 2007 at 2 p.m. at Parker-Ashworth Funeral home with the Rev. Billy Doc Hatcher officiating. Interment followed in Mount Olive Cemetery in Scurry.
