Bio

Lillian Otylie (Vasek) Wied, 90, of Warrenton, TX entered into Eternal Rest on Monday, March 29, 2021. Lillian was born in Fayetteville, Texas, on August 2, 1930, the daughter of Charlie and Albina (Kasper) Vasek. She married Wardell Otto Herbert Wied on September 14, 1948 in Warrenton, Texas. Lillian dedicated her life to being a devoted wife and a mother to her two sons: Randy and Roy. Lillian was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church of Fayetteville. She enjoyed attending mass and praying the rosary. Lillian was also a member of the Altar Society and Hermann Sons. In her free time, Lillian loved to bake for her family and friends. She was well known for her delicious lemon jelly rolls and dewberry pie. She took pride in her baking, and would frequently donate those baked goods to local charities and church picnics. Lillian also loved being outdoors and gardening. Most of all, Lillian cherished spending time with her family. She held a special place in her heart for her grandchildren and great- grandchildren. She is survived by her two sons: Randy Wied of Warrenton, TX and Roy Wied and wife, Cynthia of Carmine, TX; one sister-in-law, Betty Vasek of Houston, TX; five grandchildren: Allison Brugger and husband, Colton of Warrenton,TX; Meghan Tew and husband, Brad of Houston, TX; Randall Garret Wied of Austin, TX; Amy Weinert and husband,Tanner of Carmine, TX; Christie Goehring and husband, Blake of Round Top, TX; nine great- grandchildren: Ryker and Kannyn Goehring, Teague and Talon Weinert, Lillian, Ruth, Lowell, and John Brugger, and Liam Tew; and her caregiver of over five years, Marilyn King. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wardell; four brothers: Bill, Lawrence, Bennie and Charlie Vasek, Jr.; four sisters: Albina Markwardt, Ethlyn Michalsky, Bettie Gau, and Tony Boatright. Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 4, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Koenig-Belvill Funeral Home & Cremations in La Grange. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. A Holy Rosary will be recited on Monday, April 5, 2021 at 10:00 am at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Fayetteville. The Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am with burial following at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery in Fayetteville, TX.
