OBITUARY- Calhoun County Journal, Bruce, MS Georgie Morgan Lester, 97, of Vardaman, died Feb. 13, 2014 at Calhoun Health Services Nursing Home in Calhoun City. She was born May 3, 1916 in Calhoun County, the daughter of George W. Morgan and Cordie White Morgan. She was a homemaker and member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church. Her funeral service was Saturday at Parker Memorial Funeral Home with Bro. Robert Earl Alexander officiating and Bro. Benny Hill assisting. Burial was in Poplar Springs Cemetery. Pallbearers were Clint Covington, Tim Covington, Bill Fleming, Jr., Bryce Fleming, Matt Franklin, Barry Lester, Clint Lester, Dale Lester, Kenny Lester, Edward Patton, Colton Robertson, Trey Frazier and Charlie Patton. Survivors include three daughters, Linda Patton of Columbus, Ruth Ann (Bill) Fleming of Derma; Nancy (Robert) Franklin of Brandon; one son, Buddy (Sandra) Lester of Houston; 11 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton Lester; two sons, infant James Earl Lester and Bobby Louis Lester; two brothers, Clarence and Vernon Morgan; and on sister, Gladys Patterson.
