Bio
Calvin John Miller, age 88, a long-time resident of Mohave Valley, Ariz. died Friday, May 26, 2017. Born in 1928 in Oklahoma City, Okla. to Calvin and Lilly Miller. Calvin married his wife Susan in March of 1958 and raised a very large family. He was a conductor on the railroad for 39 years and also, many years ago, had a roofing business. Calvin loved to work outside in his garden and always supplied all of his neighbors with fresh produce. He built his home in Mohave Valley and took great pride in its appearance. Calvin was teased that he could hear a weed popping thru the dirt and immediately took care of it. Calvin loved to watch baseball and western programs - John Wayne was always his hero. His children have fond memories of watching Bonanza with him, he was given the nickname of "Hopsing" and only his kids knew why. He was preceded in death by his wife, Susan; son, Gary; brothers, David and Gene; and granddaughter, Brandy. Calvin is survived by one son, four daughters; three granddaughters; nine grandsons; nine great-granddaughters; eight great-grandsons; one great-great-granddaughter; and one great-great-grandson. Special "Thank You "to all the folks at Beacon Hospice who provided care to him over the past 2 years. Words cannot express how grateful Calvin's family is to all of you for providing such loving care to him and, the support provided to family members.
