Funeral for John William Kitchin, 87, Star Route, Alex will be 3:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 21, 1983 in the Westside Church of Christ in Alex. Mr. Kitchin was born Sept 2, 1895 near Poteau, Indian Territory. He died Friday, Feb. 18, 1983 in Presbyterian Hospital, Oklahoma City. He moved to Alex in 1909. He and Alma Lela were married on Dec. 18, 1916 in Snyder, Texas. She preceded him in death on Jan 8, 1972. Mr. Kitchin was a retired farmer and rancher. He was a member of the Alex Masonic Lodge No. 457 and a member of the Westside Church of Christ. Survivors include one son, Gerald Martin Kitchin of Norman; two daughters, Mrs. Lorene Ella Green of Lindsay, and Mrs. June Julia Thomas of Fresno, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Lora Harris of Fresno and Mrs. Ethel Hurley of Ponca City; eight grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild.
