Bio

Funeral services were held Friday morning from the Sacred Heart church for Francis Hook who died on Wednesday May 14, 1952. Rev. J.J. Hayland officiated at the services and burial was in Mt. Olivet cemetery. Pallbearers were Leo McSorley, Arthur Mickey, Dan Scanlan, Jack McSorley, Earl Hickey and Paul Conway. Mr Hook died at the Crawfrod county Memorial hospital after a short illness. He was born in Cedar county, November 20, 1878 and when he was about two years old his parents moved to Crawford county. In 1902, he was united in marriage to Anna McMahon and in 1908 they moved to Presho, South Dakota where two sons, Leo and Lyman were born. In 1934 they returned to Manilla where they lived on a farm east of town. Survivors include his wife Anna and sons, Leo and Lyman. Out of town relative attending the service included Mrs Sylvester Kapperman of Centerville, South Dakota, Gertrude Delehant of Council Bluffs, Mr and Mrs Clifford Remund of Coon Rapids; John Hook of Hawarden and Mr and Mrs Malick Foley of Manning.
