The Burlington Free Press (Burlington, Vermont), October 31, 1988, p. 2B, col. 3 & 4 Death Notices and Funerals Held WILLISTON – Dr. Edward Francis Filipi, 82, of 40 Lamplite Lane, Williston, died Wednesday evening Oct. 26, 1988, at the Medical Center Hospital following a protracted illness. He was born Sept. 21, 1906, in Clarkson, Neb., the son of Joseph J. and Hermina (Bukacek) Filipi. He was a graduate of Creighton Dental College in 1929. On Sept. 23 1939, he married Lucille Kozisek in Fullerton, Neb. Dr. Filipi served in the Army Dental Corps during World War II. Dr.and Mrs. Filipi moved to Williston eight years ago. They are members of the Williston Federated Church. He is survived by his devoted wife Lucille Filipi of Williston; a daughter Mrs. C. Robert (Joan) WIgness of Williston; two grandchildren, Kris Wigness of Michigan and Karola Martin of Charlotte; a great-grandson, Brennan Martin; two sisters, Mrs. Elmer (Esther) Makousky of Schuyler, Neb., and Mrs. Wilbur (Libbie) Bergen of Denver, Colo.; a brother, Joseph R. Filipi of Schuyler, Neb.; a half brother, Alois F. Totusek of Fremont, Neb.; and severl nieces and nephews. A private graveside service was held Sunday, Oct. 30, 1988, at 2 p.m. in East Cemetery, Williston, with the Rev. Henry Freuh of the Williston Federated Church officiating. Corbin and Palmer Funeral Home, 9 Pleasant St., Essex Junction, in charge of arrangements.
