Arrival: New York ----------------- Wesmek, Johann 57 Wesmek, Franziska 38 Wesmek, Anna 27 Wesmek, Anna 6/12 "Frantiska Bren Vosmek lies in an unmarked grave at Zion Cemetery in the Stoklasa plot. Jan Vosmek is buried in the Truhler Cemetery, Ely, Iowa. Submitted by: Mrs. William Kucera." Page 352. The Black Plague resulted in more than half the town of Ely dying, resulting in an exodus from Ely, Iowa, with the majority moving to Cedar Rapids. However, Josef Stoklasa headed for Nebraska in the spring of 1882 taking only the bare essentials he could haul in a wagon, his pregnant wife Anna, her widowed mother, Frantiska Vosmek, four year old daughter, Anna and two and a half year old son, Joseph. Anna gave birth along the way to their son Edward. Josef and Anna had ten children, four of which survived. Anna married Bedrick Chelboun, Joe married Anna Luxa, Edward married Sophia Doles, and Emma married Anton Hartl. Page 351. Page images found on ancestry. Name of book is unknown to me.
