Son of Ferdinand and Mary (Kopecky) Coufal. Married Annie Jirik on January 25, 1899 at Sts. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church, Plasi, Nebr. According to his burial card he died December 8, 1960, age 85 years, and was buried December 10. Coufal, 85, of 2723 N. 47th Ave, Omaha, were held Saturday morning from Holy Name Catholic Church. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Elsie Marie Gibson, Omaha, Mrs. Irma Ann Barwick, Los Angeles, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Anastasia Havlik, David City, Mrs. Louise Mazanec, Lexington; one grandson, Jerome James Gibson, Omaha. Mr. Coufal was born on a farm near Bruno, where he livbed for many years. Later he was a business man in Abie and Wahoo, before moving to Omaha. His wife preceded him in death many years ago.
