Immigration: arrived port of New Orleans, 1 Dec 1871with wife Theresa, age 27 and children Frank, age six, John age four, Mariann age nine months and wife's mother Theresie Janak, age 49 and her children: Mariann, age 21, Ann, age 18, Josefa, age 15, and Andrees, age nine. On 5 July 1880, John and Theresa were enumerated in Fayette County, Texas along with six of their children. On 19 June 1900 they were living in Williamson County in Pct No. 2 South Williamson Creek. They owned their own farm free of a mortgage. John said he was 70 years old and gave his date of birth as May of 1830. Teriza was 56, born in January of 1844. She said she had had 13 children and seven were alive. John and Theresa had been married for 34 years. In 1880 they said they were from Moravia and in 1900 they said Bohemia. In addition to the three children who came to America with them, they now had Joe, born June, 1873; Anton, born July 1875; Robert, born May 1879; Anna and Frances, twins born Feb 1882; Amelia, born Sep 1886; and Albina, born Feb 1890, according to the 1900 census. -- Joe David Contributor: Joe David (48095253) • [email protected]
