Fort Bend Herald, March 11, 2021: Dorothy Jean Kovar Fredrickson, 81, of Needville, Texas, passed away on March 8, 2021 at her home with her family by her side. She was born on March 28, 1939 in Damon, Texas to Edward Joseph Kovar and Magdolena "Maggie" Augustina Kostelnik Kovar. Dorothy was an only child and she loved to be with her family, consisting of 11 children, 34 grandchildren, 61 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Dorothy loved being a rice farmer's wife and a housemaker, crocheting, growing her flowers and plants in her yard, along with cuddling her chickens, doves, quail, cats, and dogs until she was no longer able to care for them. She also loved her many wonderful neighbors and friends. Dorothy was a very loving and caring wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend. Many will remember her for her work as a private caregiver and her work at the Oak Bend Skilled Nursing Center. She will be truly be missed. In addition to her parents, Dorothy is preceded in death by her infant brother, Edward Martin Kovar; her husband of 34 years, Louis "Lou" William Fredrickson; sons, William "Bill" and Gary "Ike" Fredrickson; daughters-in-law, Lisa and Linda Sue Fredrickson; and sons-in law, John Grey and Eddie Nelms. Also preceding Dorothy in death are her grandchildren, Ross and Tad Fredrickson; great-grandchild, Aubrey Hardcastle; and special friend, Daniel Psencik. Survivors include daughters, Becky Grey, Renea Hackstedt and husband, CE, Pam Lackey and husband, Cecil, Jan Schneider and husband, Mike, Cindy Pavlock, Carolyn Manville and husband, Randall, Judy Johnson, Sharon "Sissie" Demel and husband, Don; and son, Louis "Bo" Fredrickson; grandchildren, Rope and wife, Jordan Fredrickson, Dudley and Debbie Fredrickson, Brett and Becky Fredrickson, Ike and Kim Fredrickson, Ginger and Forest Sims, Crystal and Daniel Fox, John and Laura Grey, Nicky and Todd Stavinoha, Brandi France, Madalene and Andy McRae, Kati and Jason Kocian, Rocky and Kristen Kramer, Lisa and Cory Kennedy, Joey Nelms, Steven Robertson, Helen Reyna, Amanda and James Gibson, Keith and Audra Schneider, Stephanie and James Spitdowski, Natalie and Ryan Oaks, Nick and Brandy Pavlock, Kathleen and Steven Dominguez, Melanie Manville and Grayson Miller, Monica and Travis Hanzik, Bobby and Megan Manville, Greg and fiancée, Kaylee Mikolas, Thadeus and Chelsea Wilkerson, Meredith and Brett Hamm, Mackenzie and Juan "Tito" Murillo, Alli and Thomas Benson, Reagan Fredrickson, and Dane Fredrickson; also 60 great-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, extended family, and a host of friends. Due to current Covid-19 restrictions, the Fredrickson family will gather for a private memorial service celebrating Dorothy's life at a later date at Creekside Christian Fellowship Church in Needville.
