Bio

George William “Billy” Picou passed away on October 8, 2011. He was 73 years of age. Beloved husband of the late Shirley Rogers Picou by second marriage and the late June Oswald Picou by first marriage. Beloved best friend to Mary Younger. Father of Michael David Picou, the late Cynthia “Cyndi” Pfanschmidt and Roy C. Picou. Grandfather of Shelley Cloud (Dennis), Clyde Picou and Roy C. Sterling. Great-grandfather of Cheyenne, Devin, Aiden, Eva, Brandon and Emma-Leigh. Brother of Andre Picou. Son of the late Ura Babin Picou and George Washington Picou. Also survived by many loving relatives and friends. A native of Algiers, LA and resident of Marrero, LA. He served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps. Relatives, friends, members of American Legion Post 218 and retirees of Louisiana Gas Service are invited to attend the Funeral Services in the Chapel of MOTHE FUNERAL HOMES, 2100 Westbank Expy., Harvey, LA on Thursday, October 13, 2011 at 11 AM. Interment will follow at Westlawn Memorial Park, Gretna, LA. Visitation will take place at the Funeral Home on Wednesday from 6 PM to 10 PM, resuming on Thursday from 8 AM to 11 AM.
