Bio
Ruby Ann Price, 90, passed away on February 24, 2021 at Bishop Drumm Retirement Center. Ruby was born September 30, 1930 in Omaha, Nebraska to Merritt and Martha Stinson. She lived in the Omaha area for 35 years before relocating to Des Moines. Ruby worked as a teacher’s associate for many years. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Ruby is survived by her children, Sunny Dash, Hollie Price, Jr., Kathy McGrath, Nancy Price and Janet DeWeese; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Audrey Ryan. She was preceded in death by her parents; four siblings; son, Gene Price; son-in-law, Eugene McGrath; and her life partner, Harold Stebbins. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, March 1, 2021 at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Ruby will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family respectfully requests that all guests wear masks and practice social distancing.
