Carncross, 83, of 738 Carncross Road, Pittsford, Mich., passed away suddenly Tuesday morning, April 15, [1975] at her home. Hillsdale County Coroner A.R. Leonard ruled her death due to natural causes. Mrs. Carncross was born March 25, 1892 in Gratiot County, Mich., the daughter of Findley and Arminta Porter MacIntosh (McIntosh). She was a graduate of Hudson High School in 1911, and married Cecil B. Carncross on Sept. 19, 1912 at Hillsdale. They lived their entire married life on the Carncross Centennial Farm in Pittsford Township, Hillsdale County. Mr. Carncross survives. She was the manager of the Pittsford High School cafeteria more than 20 years before retirement; was a member of the Osseo United Methodist Church; a past president of the Pittsford Women's Club; a member of the Lickley's Corners Community Club; member of Lickley Corners Grange, Pomona Grange, State and National Granges; member of the Arthur Day Farm Bureau Group; a member of the Pittsford Library Board, where she also worked in the library; and was a member of the W.C.T.U. at Pittsford. Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Friday in the Brown Van Hemert Funeral Home, Hudson, Mich., with Rev. Marlon Nye officiating. Interment was made in the Lickley Corners Cemetery.
