Bio
Leona Stengler, 87 of Winnie, died October 17, 2007 at the Arboretum of Winnie. A native of Winnie, she had retired from Sun Oil as an accountant. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 20, 2007 at the First Baptist Church of Stowell, 117 Van Ostrand, with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Broussard's, 134 W. Buccaneer Drive in Winnie. A gathering of family and friends will be Friday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Leona is survived by her brothers, Raymond Kunefke of Winnie, Melvin Kunefke and his wife, Caroline of Gore Springs, MS. Herbert Kunefke of Winnie; sister, Gertrude Mahon and her husband, Willard of Winnie; numerous nieces and nephews.
