Bio

Alice McBryde, 79, of Carthage, TX, passed away on Tuesday morning, Feb. 2, 2021, in Carthage. Alice Fay Skelton was born on Oct. 1, 1941, in Gary, TX to the late Hoy “H.E.” and Fay Wallace Skelton. She graduated from Carthage High School with the class of 1960. She married Donald Calvin McBryde and he preceded her in death on July 7, 1989. Mrs. McBryde worked for many years at Panola General Hospital as a nurse’s aide and later owned and operated her own beauty shop in Carthage. She also worked as a caregiver in the Dallas area and later in Carthage. Mrs. McBryde was a member of Central Baptist Church. She is survived by her children, David Allen Myers and wife Mandi of Carthage, Angelia Cervantez of Hewitt, and David Edward Myers of Carthage; siblings, Deane Harris of Carthage, Billy Skelton and wife Pam of Carthage, and Laura Wilkerson of Conway, AR; grandchildren, Kim Russell and husband Wayne, Chase Myers and fiancé Natasha Ramsey, Ashley Barron, Lindsey Jones and husband Corey, Chelsea Movilla-Diago and husband Juan, Erin Frederick and husband Chuck, and Clay Myers and wife Heaven; 14 great-grandchildren; step-sons, Kevin, Darin, and Bryan McBryde; and the father of her children, David G. Myers. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends also survive. The family will like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Mrs. McBryde’s caregivers and staff at Carthage Healthcare. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 5, 2021, at Restland Memorial Park with Dr. Monty Pierce officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Honorary pallbearers are Chase Myers, Clay Myers, Si Simons, Joe Skelton, Jamie Wilkerson, James Lawrence, and Ricky Maxey. Memorials may be made to Mission Carthage, 940 E.
