Danny Berry February 28, 1948 - February 1, 2021 Graveside service for Mr. Danny Berry 72, of Gilmer, Texas will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 4, 2021 at Sand Hill Cemetery with Kenneth Loyd and Dave Orban officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Croley Funeral Home. Mr. Berry passed away Monday, February 1, 2021, in Longview. Mr. Berry was born February 28, 1948 in Gilmer, Texas to the late Arry and Lillie Shaw Berry. Danny served his country in Vietnam before doing a apprenticeship and starting his career as a machinist at Lone star steel where he worked for 22 years and then retiring from North East Machine and Tool after 34 years. He was a member of the Sand Hill Baptist Church. Danny loved to pitch horseshoes, he belonged to the Kilgore Horseshoe Club. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially anything to do with his granddaughters and piddling around his place. He enjoyed staying busy and appreciated a hard days work. Danny is survived by his wife of 51 years, Janell Berry; daughter, Crystal White and husband, Brent; sister, Betty Witcher and husband, AW; nieces, Ginger Hughes,Terry Berry, Samantha Hawkins, and Winnette Warren; nephews, Lester Berry, Walter Witcher; sister-in-law, Pat Hawkins; granddaughters (Poppas girlies) Briana, Shelby, Ashlynn, and Annsley; as well as numerous great nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Coy Berry.
