Funeral Service for Mrs. Lucy Mae Scarborough Dennis, 94 of Snyder, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church Chapel in Snyder with Rev. Chris Downer, pastor, Bible Baptist Church in Slaton, officiating. Interment will be at Hillside Memorial Gardens under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home. Mrs. Lucy passed away Wednesday at Cogdell Memorial Hospital. She was born Oct. 28, 1912 in Temple Texas. She married Ben Dennis Jan. 1st 1938, in Bangs Texas. He passed away Feb. 25, 1994. Also preceding her in death was a grandson, Michael Dennis on Nov. 2nd, 1980. She was also preceded by all of her brothers and sisters. The family moved to Snyder in 1939 and were members of the First Baptist Church until moving to Lubbock in 1964 where they joined Oakwood Baptist Church. Lucy was active in youth activities and women's organizations serving as president of the American Business Women's Association several times after joining the organization in 1960. Mr. and Mrs. Dennis owned and operated several auto parts businesses over the years. Lucy returned to Snyder in 1995 and again joined the First Baptist Church. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends as a kind and loving lady, Survivors include two sons, Lawson Dennis and wife Kay, of Snyder and Foy Dennis and wife Sharian of Slaton; three grandsons, James Dennis and wife Sibrina of Lubbock, Danny Dennis, Arlington, Texas, and Lawson G. Dennis, Snyder; two great grandsons; three great granddaughters, two great great grandsons; one step-grandson, two step granddaughters and nine step great grandchildren Visitation will be from 7-8:30 p.m. Friday evening at Bell Cypert Seale Funeral Home.
