The Lexington Leader January 26, 2006 Emily Alfrieda Patschke February 20, 1912 – January 20, 2006 Emily Alfreida Patschke was born February 20, 1912 in Lexington, Texas. Here parents were John and Anna (Hartfiel) Kasper. She was brought to the Lord and made a child of God in the Sacrament of Holy Baptism at St. James Lutheran Church in Lexington on February 25, 1912. She confessed her Christian faith when she renewed her Baptismal vows in the Rite of Confirmation on March 26, 1926 at St. Michael's Lutheran Church in Winchester. On January 21, 1934, Emily was joined in Holy Matrimony with Walter Patschke at St. Michael's Lutheran Church in Winchester. This union was blessed with 3 children, Richard, Jeanette, and Marilyn. Emily loved her Lord and served Him as a long time Sunday School teacher. She was also a charter member of the St. James LWML. Emily was called to be with her Savior on Friday afternoon, January 20, 2006, at SPJST Nursing Center in Taylor. She attained the age of 93 years and 11 months. Rev. Leif Hasskarl conducted the funeral service at St. James Lutheran Church on January 23, 2006. The pallbearers were Tim Stence, Robert Stence, Russell Zoch, Matthew Stence, Ronny Burrough, and Jason Ehler. Burial was in the St. James Lutheran Church Cemetery in Lexington. She is survived by her children, Richard Patschke and wife, Jeanette of Rockdale, Jeanette Stence and husband, Shelby of Lexington and Marilyn Zoch of Austin; 7 grandchildren, Tim Stence and wife, Glenda of Taylor, Robert Stence and wife, Jennifer of Katy, Theresa Stence of Pflugerville, Sandra Burrough and husband Ronny of Rockdale, Susan Ehler and husband, David of Rockdale, Russell Zoch and wife Julie of Austin, Genna Zoch of Austin; 12 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; 1 brother, Marvin Kasper of Smithville; 3 sisters-in-law, Helen Patschke of Texas City, Erna Patschke of Fedor, Ruby Kasper of Port Arthur; and a host of relatives and friends. Emily was preceded in death by her husband, Walter; parents; 2 brothers, Richard Kasper and Alfred Kasper; 2 sisters, Ruth White and Hildregard Goebel; a son-in-law, Gerald Zoch; and a great grandson, Blake Burrough.
