Fremont Tribune (NE) - Thursday, September 19, 2002 Charles L. Buchholtz, 73, of Fremont died Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2002, at Fremont Area Medical Center. He was born Aug. 4, 1929, in Morse Bluff. He grew up in Morse Bluff and then lived at Madrid for a time until moving to Fremont in 1960. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from March 15, 1951, to March 4, 1953. He was a diesel mechanic for MTR Inc. in Fremont until retiring in 1992. He married Mary Johnson on June 20, 1953, in Madrid. She preceded him in death on Jan. 30, 1987. He married Vicki Reuling on Dec. 31, 1989, in Fremont. He was a member of American Legion Post 340 of Morse Bluff and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8223 of North Bend. He was a member and sponsor of Alcoholics Anonymous. He was a former member of Fraternal Order of Eagles 200 of Fremont. Survivors include: his wife, Vicki; two sons, Todd (and wife, Lori) Hill of Fremont and Brent Danner of Phoenix; two daughters, Tammi Bias of Omaha and Lisa (Mrs. Dan) Laubach of Fremont; a brother, Melvin Buchholtz of Fremont; four sisters, Bernice Peterson of North Bend, Deloris (Mrs. Jim) Hulke of Davenport, Iowa, Leona Simanek and LuAnn Vitamvas, both of Fremont; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He also was preceded in death by a sister. The funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont with the Rev. Joe Brown officiating. Visitation is in progress until service time today at the funeral home. Military honors will be conducted by American Legion Post 340 of Morse Bluff, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8223 of North Bend and AmVets Post 20 of North Bend. A memorial has been established to Fremont Area Medical Center Foundation.
