Bio

Cora M. Byrum, 91, of Broken Bow, passed away April 8, 2007 at McCurtain Manor Nursing Home, Broken Bow. She was born August 31, 1915, in Birthright, TX to Frank and Oda (Rushing) Turner. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, reading her bible and spending time with her family. She was of the Apostolic faith. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Oda Turner; husband, Henry "Lee" Byrum; two sons, Willis C. Haley and James W. Haley; one grandson, Ricky Haley; one sister, Lillie Davis; two brothers, Ovis Henson and Earnest Turner. Cora leaves to cherish her memory, one son, Leon Byrum, Broken Bow, OK; one daughter, Evelyn Tidmore and husband Jasper, Wright City, OK; one sister, Rosa Duckworth, Sulphur Springs, TX; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; ten great, great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 12, 2007 at Brumley Funeral Home Chapel, Broken Bow. Bro Jerry Autrey will officiate. Interment will follow at Holly Creek Cemetery. Family will be receiving friends from 6-8 pm Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at Brumley Funeral Home. ∼ My maternal grandmother, Cora Magalin Turner Byrum, was born on August 31, 1915, in Birthright, Hopkins Co., Texas, USA, her father, William Franklin "Frank" "WF" Turner, was 30 and her mother, Oda Elizabeth "Oder" "Oder Lizabeth" Rushing, was 27 years old . Cora was married two times, her 1st marriage was to Wes Haley, and her 2nd marriage was to Henry Levi Debs "Dee" Lee" Byrum. I descend from her second marriage. During her 1st marriage, she had James William "JW" Haley and Willis Clinton Haley (died at age of 4 days). During her second marriage, she had Leon Byrum and Evelyn May Byrum Tidmore. Cora died on April 8th, 2007, in Broken Bow, McCurtain Co., Oklahoma, USA at the age of 91, and was in Holly Creek, McCurtain Co., Oklahoma, USA.
